Esophageal Airway Clearances Can be Significantly
Decreased by a Forward Head Position

A Forward Head Position, if severe enough, can result in a narrow airway.  Typically an oral apparatus (or removal of teeth and/or expanding the palate) is recommended to manage this narrow airway.

My research suggests that by reversing the Forward Head Position, the esophageal narrowing will automatically be reversed.

Below are anatomages (0% clipping - patient standing) taken before and immediately after the patient is fitted with a proprioceptive insole.  Note the changes in Total Volume and Minimal Areas.

This patient was diagnosed as having the PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity which resulted in an Ascending Postural Distortional Pattern.

In this case, the head was significantly shifted forward resulting in a narrowed esophageal airway. During intensive physical activity:
  • Without the proprioceptive insole, the patient experiences breathing problems
  • With the proprioceptive insole, the patient has no breathing problems
